Virginia Minimum Wage 2024 Hourly Rategain. Increases the minimum wage from the current rate of $12.00 per hour to $13.50 per hour effective january 1, 2025, and to $15.00 per hour. Virginia minimum wage rate is $12.00 per hour in 2024.

From may 1, 2021, until january 1, 2022, every employer shall pay to each of its employees wages at a rate not less than the greater of (i) $9.50 per hour or (ii) the federal minimum. Unlike other states, virginia does not exempt tipped workers from the state mandated minimum wage.
